Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
Instructions:
- Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
- Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in chocolate morsels.
- Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 375° for 9 to 11 minutes.
- Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Yield: about 6½ dozen cookies.
