Did you grab a Seed Scroll at the expo?

Thanks for stopping by our booth! Curious about your seeds? Let’s dig in!

At the Homeschool Expo, we wanted to give families something small but meaningful—and what better gift than the chance to grow something beautiful?

Each seed packet we handed out includes 1–2 Mammoth Russian sunflower seeds and a pinch of the Honey Bee wildflower mix. These flowers don’t just brighten up a yard—they create vital food sources and habitat for pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Pollinators are essential to life on Earth. In fact, about 75% of flowering plants and 35% of our food crops depend on pollinators to grow. But their populations are declining due to habitat loss and pesticide use. By planting even a small patch of flowers, you’re helping to rebuild the ecosystems they rely on—and that’s something to be proud of.

Planting Instructions

You don’t need a big yard or fancy tools—just a sunny spot and some soil!

When to plant:

  • After the last frost in spring (late April to early June, depending on your region)

How to plant:

1. Loosen a patch of soil in a sunny area.

2. Plant the large sunflower seeds about 1 inch deep and 6–12 inches apart.

3. Scatter the wildflower seeds lightly over the top of the soil.

4. Gently press the wildflower seeds into the soil or lightly rake them in.

5. Water well, and keep the soil moist until you see sprouts.

What Might Grow?

From your mix, you can expect to grow Mammoth Russian Sunflowers (towering, sunny blooms up to 12 feet tall) and a variety of wildflowers for bees, including:

  • Coneflower

  • Coreopsis

  • Cosmos

  • Black-eyed Susan

  • Daisies and more

These plants not only feed pollinators but also add color, charm, and ecological value to your space.
